MEET THE ARTIST
ANTHONY MENCHACA
Founder + Artist
Hi, Im Anthony! I’m a Fresno native — and like most people who find their way to Ritual Refinery, I’m always in a season of transformation.
Both of my kids are in college now, off exploring the world as mini adults. Which means I’m left taking care of the only thing that still lets me baby it: my cat, Murray. Even he has started branching out from strictly indoor to indoor/outdoor… so there you go.
I’ve lived a few lives career-wise and tried on more than one educational path, but when I found cosmetology, it clicked. It felt like the perfect balance of everything I’d been trying to be all along: artist, boss, therapist, teacher, explorer, actor…and the ability to reinvent — not just hair, but confidence.
Outside the salon, I’m usually curating yearly playlists (because music is how we remember), catching up with friends over a properly made vodka tonic, arguing with my grumpy old cat (yes, he yells back), and spending time with my kids whenever I can.
I also have a side obsession with astrology and tarot — which definitely influenced the Ritual Refinery branding.
Just don’t ask me about your star sign. In true Leo fashion, I only know mine.

I’m not here to give you “just a nice color” or “just extensions.” I build the version of you that you’ve been growing towards; quietly, intentionally, and finally.
On set, in the salon, or behind the scenes as a Screen & Media Hair & Makeup Artist, my work is about evolution. Clean. Modern. Elevated.
When you sit in my chair, the goal is simple: clarity, confidence, and a look that feels unmistakably yours.
I approach my work the way a cinematographer approaches lighting: with intention, discipline, and a deep respect for how the smallest details can change everything.
Whether I’m crafting dimensional color, blending extensions seamlessly, or preparing someone for a camera lens, my goal is always the same—
to refine you into the version of yourself you've been trying to grow into for years.
